Back in August, Eaton HK and TA Magazine presented a groundbreaking fashion show celebrating non-binary identity and expression, an event that also marked the launch of TA’s first limited edition (100 copies only) magazine, a community zine that focuses on contemporary LGBTQIA+ and non-binary issues.
The fashion show spotlighted non-binary aesthetics, emphasizing a gender-neutral style that blends femininity and masculinity into androgyny.
Following the fashion show, there was "Things We Never Did", a photography exhibition by acclaimed Hong Kong photographer Mark Chung, held at Tomorrow Maybe (August 26 to September 22, 2024) and Food Hall (September 23 to October 13, 2024) at Eaton HK. The exhibition was curated by Kary Kwok, founder of the magazine, showcasing powerful photographic queer documentation, as well as clothing and props from the fashion show.
We love how this program weaved its way through the different spaces of the building, starting with the glamorous fashion show in the Maggie Ballroom (2/F), followed by the “Things We Never Did” exhibition beginning at our Tomorrow Maybe gallery (4/F), then taking on a new life on the walls of our Food Hall ( L/G), before its finale as a sit-down chat with photographer Mark Chung at Eaton Radio, in which Eaton HK’s Director of Culture Joseph Chen, joins him to discuss the story and process behind his captures, as well as fashion, gender and photography from the 80s to today.
