As our team wraps up a monumental art week here at Eaton HK, we marvel at a list of firsts: Tomorrow Maybe debuted as a culture partner booth at Art Basel, and Eaton HK was invited to curate M+ Museum's private art week opening party, one of the largest events of the week. Here are a few snapshots of our most unforgettable moments.
MONDAY | 21 March - 18:00
We were thrilled to give a sneak peek of our feature artists to our media friends, as well as VIPs of Art Basel. Around 50 guests joined into experience HOLOK Chen's beading workshop, as well as a guided tour of the 'Golden Snail Series' exhibition with Joseph.
SUNDAY | 23 March - 22:00
Building our stage at the M+ Museum was no small feat. With the support of our prop artist, IV Chan, we were able to have a successful rehearsal run on this night with performer Jas Lin and sound artist ALEXMALISM.
MONDAY 24 March - 20:30
We kicked it off on Monday with a party at M+ Museum, where movement artist Jas Lin, sound artist ALEXMALISM and sculpture artist IV Chan presented a ritualistic performance aimed to release the audience and participants from internalized surveillance and systemic confines through animalistic and wrestling movements.
TUESDAY 25 March - 00:00
For the first time this year, Tomorrow Maybe was invited as a Cultural Partner of Art Basel Hong Kong. We began installation on in the wee hours of Tuesday morning, just shortly after we wrapping up the M+ party.
WEDNESDAY 26 March - 12:00
Our longtime Eaton House collaborator and artist HOLOK Chen presented his first solo exhibition “Where Are My People?” at Art Basel as featured artist at Tomorrow Maybe's cultural partner booth. The booth is transformed into a space station for their alien tribe, designed by award-winning production designer Man Lim Chung. Throughout the exhibition, HOLOK and their tribe members will engage in one-on-one interactions with visitors, inviting them to share stories of lived experiences and crises. These interactions aim to reframe narratives of loss and sadness while fostering bondings through shared traumatic memories.
26 March - 15:00
Bangkok-based specialty coffee, cocktail bar, art and music hub, Cosmo Vibrators had a one-day pop-up at Terrible Baby, showcasing 30 one-off T-shirt designs by DJ Healthy, and bringing their unique take of a third space to the Music Room.
FRIDAY 28 March - 17:50
At Tomorrow Maybe, we celebrated the opening of Bangkok-based artist Chulayarnnon Siriphol’s video artwork series, "The Golden Snail Series" and had a chance to interview him for our video piece.
28 March - 19:00
Chulayarnnon held a screening and an artist talk at Kino and a guided tour of his exhibition.
SATURDAY 29 March - 12:00
We woke up to guided movement meditations and embodiment tasks via Jas Lin's MORNING EXORCISE movement workshop.
29 March- 17:00
HOLOK spoke at the Art Basel's Exchange Circle to present his exhibition and with the topic "Voidpunk and Speculative Fabulation in action.
SUNDAY 30 March - 14:00
Our Director of Culture Joseph Chen spoke on a panel at Art Basel HK Conversations with Indonesian artists, Natasha Toney and Riar Rizadi, who had a duo solo at Tomorrow Maybe in 2023. The talk was meant to be "An artistic guide to surviving the present"
