UNHEARD: The Godfather Chronicle - the ghetto tech sound of Detroit Screening
Dive into the depths of ghetto tech through The Godfather Chronicles documentary, a project that was directed by Amil Khan, label owner of Hong Kong techno imprint Technorient and techno supergroup Technasia.
This idea for the documentary was spearheaded by veteran music manager and consultant James Kwai Ho Chan in the early to mid-2000s, when he and Amil bonded with Brian Jeffries aka DJ Godfather during a DJ tour over Detroit's electronic music scene, DJ culture and turntablism. Meanwhile, Jason Foster aka Jay, Clockenflap cofounder, was commissioned to work on a Technasia music video, and was brought into this passionate circle. Shortly after, they took a trip to Detroit to submerge themselves in the city's culture and to shoot footage for a CD/DVD project, to be released under Technasia sublabel Minimaxima.
