House Listening Session Series: Osmosis by Ruqqiyah @ Eaton House

Part of Eaton House's Listening Session series: Local musician Ruqqiyah performs her latest album "Osmosis"

About Ruqqiyah: By way of many places, D.C based singer-songwriter, Ruqqiyah aims to explore the art of living and loving for love's sake, through song and storytelling. Although her influences stem from many places, folk, blues and jazz are at the core of what she draws from. She aims to deconstruct and remold these inspirations into something tangible yet boundless. Something that fits her skin. She makes music for anyone who is willing to listen and she hopes that you will.

About the project: Osmosis; the process of gradual or unconscious assimilation of ideas, knowledge, etc. Osmosis is a deeply personal, self-exploration on what it means to love and be loved. It is an ode to all of the disregarded lessons and seeds I unknowingly gathered, finally sticking and taking root. Completing and releasing this project allowed me to finally see myself and be ok with others seeing me. I’ve cultivated so much love in these past couple of years and I’m so elated to share it with you.
