Flying Around: Capturing A Southern Movement

Flying Around: Movements of Blackness places Arielle Gray in conversation with her work to explore spirituality and methods in which Black Women contextualize escapism to honor the femme body. Photographer Arielle Gray negotiates present day standardized art practices and the pressure to conform. Flying Around takes a deep look at the ever present pressure of existing as a Black Woman and the ways in which we find reprieve.

Eaton DC is produ to presetn Flying Around -- one of Eaton's most comprehensive exhibits, to date -- alongside ongoing programming partner Black Girls In Art Spaces. Hotel guests, Eaton House members and the public are invited to explore Flying Around, spanning both Eaton Hotel and Eaton House gallery spaces.
