LIVE at Eaton Washington DC | Monthly Music Showcase & Songwriting Competition

Every last Sunday of the month, Eaton House at Eaton Washington DC transforms into the DMV's most electrifying stage for independent artists. LIVE is a monthly music experience created and produced by Khadija Jahmila in partnership with Eaton DC — celebrating raw talent, spontaneous creativity, and the vibrant independent music community that makes Washington DC one of the most culturally rich cities in the country.

The night is built around two signature events:

The Jam Session Ten DMV artists. One live band. Zero scripts. The Jam Session is an open, high-energy showcase of Washington DC's working musicians — a rotating cast of performers who bring their sound, their story, and their presence to the Eaton House stage. This is community, craft, and chemistry in real time.

The Write Off Three songwriting contestants. Mystery tracks heard for the first time live. Seventy-five minutes to write original lyrics from scratch. Then — perform them for the room and let the audience decide the winner by applause. The prize: 90 minutes of studio time at DKE Studio. The Write Off is one of DC's only live songwriting competitions, and there is nothing else like it in the city.

LIVE is produced with the full creative force of some of DC's most respected collaborators: curated cocktails by Booze Bruvas at the Eaton House Bar, music production by Scalehaus Group, and sound by Atar Global / Stan Kelz.

This is not background music. This is not a passive listening experience. This is a room full of people witnessing something being built in real time — and deciding together what wins.
