We are Family turns 17+3! A Community Birthday Party

"We are Family" is a radio program for the Hong Kong LGBTQ+ community. First broadcasted in 2006 on RTHK, it is hosted by veteran broadcaster Brian Leung. As the only public voice for the LGBTQ+ community in the city, " We are Family " has been exploring gender and sexuality, arts and cultural, and the everyday in a down-to-earth, authentic, and humorous voice, accompanying a generation of Hong Kong's LGBTQ+ community on their journey of becoming themselves. After 17 years on RTHK, the program transitioned to a self-funded community-based production model in 2023, providing visual content in addition to audio, and continuing to be the voice of Hong Kong's diverse community.
And exciting news for our 20th anniversary! On the eve of Pride Month 2026, " We are Family" will officially relaunch on Metro Radio on May 29th, greeting our listeners and community over the airwaves once again every Friday night at midnight!
Looking back at the different generations of hosts and guests and different times we have lived through, as the program celebrates turning 20, we will share two decades of behind-the-scenes, unfiltered stories and fun facts with friends and audience at our 17+3 community birthday party!
