Into the Vapor: a foray into an Internet Electronic Music Genre w/ Angus Lee

A brief journey through the first decade of vaporwave (an acousmatic, sampling-based genre of internet music) - and its offshoots - in the form of a playlist with artist's favourite selections.

Angus Lee (b. 1992) is a Hongkong-born performer-composer who has appeared in international music festivals across North America, Asia, continental Europe and the UK. He has been a musician of the Hong Kong New Music Ensemble since 2016, and has been a full time faculty member of The University of Hong Kong's Music Department since 2022. His current doctoral research combines his creative compositional work with an investigation of the internet music genre, vaporwave. In his (almost non-existent) spare time outside of practising, rehearsing, performing, composing and teaching, he is an avid reader of philosophy and political theory, and enjoys swimming and playing badminton.
