Island Constellations Youth Atlas: Photography & Countermapping Workshop

As part of our Earth Month programming, we'll be partnering with National Geographic Explorers to delve into climate action through indigenous preservation and archipelago stories. The programming builds off of Ways of Water—last year’s Earth Month program—and shines a light on the severe impact of climate change for coastal communities.

Over the weekend of April 13 local youth will be invited to participate in ‘Island Constellations’—Youth Atlas workshops around climate change supported by National Geographic. The workshops will range from art and tapestry making (for youth ages 14-17 years old) to photography and even counter-mapping, a form of cartography that empowers marginalized people’s rights to land and resources (for ages 17-28 years old).
