Eaton HK is honored to host Japanese wig artist Tomihiro Kono and his partner Sayaka Murayama as artists in residence. During their residency, our hotel’s Food Hall will be hosting a collaborative exhibition with Current Plans that will showcase the artists’ works—hairpieces by Kono, as photographed by Maruyama. Kono’s dreamlike, iconic wigs have been worn by cultural idols, including Björk and Grimes.
The exhibition will show Kono’s psychedelic and otherworldly work, including ‘Creature Wigs’ — a series of whimsical fancy wigs inspired by underwater animals. These small and flexible wigs can be worn in combination with other wigs or the model’s own hair.
