<p>Embrace the darkness and recover your light at this weekend wellness retreat at Eaton DC. With Eaton's signature integration of art, culture, music, social justice impact, food, and wellness, we will holistically prepare for this winter solstice and illuminate the darkest days of the year together with special guests Rachel Cargle and Camonghne Felix. </p><p><br></p><p><strong>Retreat Itinerary</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Friday, December 17th</strong></p><p><br></p><p>+ Welcome Happy Hour, 5pm to 7pm: Welcome the solstice spirit with award-winning cocktails and healing mocktails, tucked in the cozy corners of our Allegory speakeasy.</p><p><br></p><p>+ Film Screening of "Abundance", 7pm to 7:30pm, followed by live music: Private screening of Abundance, a brilliant independent film by Amber J. Phillips and brought to us by Eaton’s Impact Director Katie Petitt, followed by an intimate, live performance by DC's beloved BOOMscat band – who produced the film score.</p><p><br></p><p>+Friday <strong>Seated Dinner</strong>: 7–9pm (Optional Add-On)</p><p>When we organize our understanding of culture, of art, and of social change around food, both physically and theoretically, new ways of seeing the world become available. Join us for the first installment of a new dinner series where artists, intellectuals, politicians, and changemakers of all backgrounds gather to eat, drink and interrogate the issues of our time. Hosted by Camonghne Felix and Chef Kyle J. Burke, curated by GB Kim with special guests Jason Reynolds, Astead Herndon, and Alencia Johnson.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Saturday, December 18th</strong></p><p><br></p><p>+ Restorative Yoga Class (all levels), 10am to 11:30am: A restorative class, guided by Eaton’s Wellness Director Tara Purnell, that links movement to the breath, this class is fun for yogis of all levels. Stretch muscles, find balance, and create internal space, and set an intention for the week. Detailed verbal instructions, modifications for inflexible folks, and more challenging pose extensions for flexible students. This class will be scored with the healing liberation that is Black music – with a purpose-built playlist provided! All props provided.</p><p><br></p><p>+Saturday’s <strong>Wellness Offerings</strong>: 10am–6pm (Optional Add-on). Drop deeper into Wellness with full body massages, Reiki energy healing, Thai Yoga, and infrared sauna hours available to book for retreat guests as a priority.</p><p><br></p><p>+ Deep Dive Meditation with Rachel Cargle, 3pm to 4:30pm: Understanding our highest values is an invitation to finding grounding, recalibration and meaning in the everyday. Join writer, philanthropic innovator and social entrepreneur Rachel Cargle at Eaton DC for her signature workshop as she guides us through a sequence of meditations, practices and tools, shared not only to Welcome the Light and discover your highest values but implement them into various aspects of life from home to work to relationship.</p><p><br></p><p>+ Saturday Night Turn-up, 9pm and beyond: Bring your whole self to light up the night - Aphrosoul spins at our speakeasy Allegory.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><em style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); color: rgb(32, 31, 30);">With the health and safety of our community members in mind, we now require proof of </em><em style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); color: inherit;">COVID</em><em style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); color: rgb(32, 31, 30);">-19 vaccination or negative test results (within 72 hours) for all guests of Eaton DC.
