<p><strong>Eaton DC is honored to present FREE Wellness programming previews to the public, outdoors in Franklin Park for the Fall 2021 season.</strong></p><h2>About this event</h2><p><br></p><p>Carrying each other through the pandemic with the anxiety of airborne illness still on our minds, the Downtown DC community is well-equipped to care for its visitors and residents in the beautiful parks and plazas that surround us. Through this partnership, Eaton Wellness will fulfill its aim to serve our community with more accessible opportunities for mental healthcare and wellness, collective care and healing.</p><p><br></p><p>Weekly Offerings Include:</p><p>YOGA: A restorative class that links movement to the breath, this class is fun for yogis of all levels. Stretch muscles, find balance, and create internal space, and set an intention for the week. Detailed verbal instructions, modifications for modestly mobile folks, and more challenging pose extensions for flexible students. This class is scored with the healing liberation that is soul music – a purpose-built playlist provided each week. This weekday lunch hour offering is beginner-friendly and explores new practical meditation techniques to help build resilience, find inner-peace, and create community. Guided by ABHAYAM (Venmo @abhayam-kalu). WEDNESDAYS, 12:30 PM – 1:15 PM.</p><p><br></p><p>QI GONG: Introducing the basic concepts of Qi Gong, a slow movement practice that originates in China, this class features movements and postures that help purify, tonify, and circulate Qi (pronounced “chi”, meaning energy) within the body. Participants will learn how to “tap in” and feel their Qi for reduced pain, better body mechanics, increased range of motion, improving mood, and boosting energy. It is a gentle, standing practice, which makes it especially accessible for elders and anyone with limited mobility. Guided by NICOLE (Venmo @ElisaNicole33).
